Average heart rate around 120 bpm
Trip high point: 8,324 ft at Grand Col Ferret

What I carried home

Not the mileage. The thing that stuck was how automatic the breathing practice became by the last stage, something I had to consciously reach for on day one and by day six was just how I walked. That, and how much simpler life gets when your only job for six days is to get to the next valley.

A stone milestone with the number 13 on top, surrounded by mountain scenery with green hills and snow patches, under a clear blue sky.
